Hi tech guys !

The World Economic Forum has released the “Future of Jobs Report 2023”.

I am presenting a few of the important and interesting findings as they are from this report for the sake of reader fraternity who are active seekers of career prospects.

*Some 23% of jobs are expected to change by 2027 with 69 million( ⇒ 6.9 crore )new jobs created and 83 million ( ⇒ 8.3 crore)eliminated ( resulting in a net decrease of 14 million (⇒ 1.4 crore) jobs or 2% of current employment among the 673 million ( ⇒ 67.3 crore) jobs corresponding to the data set.( according to the estimates of 803 companies surveyed for the report).

*Slower economic growth,supply shortages and inflation pose the greatest risks to jobs

*Fastest growing jobs are AI and machine learning specialists, sustainability specialists,business intelligence analysts and information security specialists.

*Largest absolute growth is expected in education,agriculture and digital commerce.

*The fastest growing roles are being driven by technology & digitalisation

*Big data ranks at the top among technologies seen to create jobs with 65% of survey respondents expecting job growth in related roles.

*The employment of data analysts and scientists,big data specialists AI machine learning specialists and cyber security professionals is expected to grow on an average by 30% by 2027.

*Digital commerce will lead to the largest absolute gains in jobs : approximately 2 million ( ⇒ ~20 lakh)new digitally enabled roles are expected ( such as e-commerce specialists,digital transformation specialists and digital marketing and strategy specialists)

*At the same time the fastest declining roles are also being driven by technology and digitalisation with clerical or secretarial roles including bank tellers, cashiers and data entry clerks expected to decline fastest)

Note: I presented some important points verbatim.My intention is to summarise the key features of the report. My observation reveals that we are more familiar with ‘crores’ than with ‘millions’. So,to have a real feel of the implications of the data presented I mentioned the equivalent value in ‘crores’ in the brackets.
